Andy Kennedy Postgame Quotes

On the Ole Miss defense

"When teams consistently shoot high numbers on you, it's telling you something. It's telling us that we're reactionary. I thought at the end, they hit some pretty big shots. Our post defense was obviously very suspect. No. 2 (Andrew Hayles) is a pretty good player. He hit some hard shots at the end to keep them close. We played behind the whole game. They've played everybody close with the exception of Nebraska. They're a tough team. They are going to do very, very well in their league. I've known their coach for years. He does a good job. We've got a lot of work to do, but I did see some positives. Malcolm White finally came to play. We finally out-rebounded somebody. Seventeen offensive rebounds was obviously the difference in the game."

On the response of team after New Mexico loss

"I didn't know (how we would respond). I know that I'm paid to know, but when you've got so many guys, you just don't know. I feel pretty confident every night with what Chris (Warren) and David (Huertas) are going to give us. I'm not saying I always like it. They've got some issues, but I feel pretty good about what they're going to do for us. Everybody else on our roster, everybody, I don't have a clue. I thought the fight was good. Again, we're having a hard time defending. 81 points is unacceptable, but we made some big shots. David and Chris made some big plays, and we're used to that. What we're not used to is what Malcolm did for us. The and-1 at the end was huge for his confidence, I hope. Murphy (Holloway) had a big put-back. Those are the things that hopefully we can build on, because obviously Chris and David need some help if we're going to be a quality team."

On the upcoming game against Louisville

"It's a huge game. Every win is a good win. You're certainly not pleased with the way it happens at times, but you're not going to give any back. I'm pleased that we won. This is why you work so hard. This is why you come to an SEC schoolto play a game such as thisnational television, a big-time opponent, one of the most prestigious powerhouses in college basketball. I know I'm excited. I hope our guys are excited about it. This neutral site probably won't be as neutral as we'd like. Hopefully, by us going into the Pit and that atmosphere, hopefully we'll be a little better prepared this time."
