“You really don’t know what you have until you go through adversity. We’ve been hit with some adversity and have not responded the way I would have hoped we would. You have to play incredibly hard. You have to make plays that are there. We’re leaving too many plays on the table. I’m the head coach here and the buck stops with me. I take full responsibility for the play of our team. Learning is a shared responsibility.”
On the rest of the season:
“You would like to throw up the white flag so we can get some time to regroup, but you can’t do that. The games keep coming. We will either keep going in the direction we’re going, which isn’t the one preferred, or we can find a way to man-up and change it. I’m still waiting for this team to take ownership. I don’t feel as if the guys have really stepped up and taken ownership. That’s why we are on this slide.”
