Curtis Named All-SEC By Associated Press

OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss senior center Dwayne Curtis continues to add postseason hardware, as he was named to the All-SEC second team by the Associated Press Monday.

 

Curtis was also named All-SEC second team by the league coaches and was a second-team All-District selection by the NABC. He also represented Ole Miss on the SEC Community Service Team this season.

 

The Chicago native ranks second in the SEC in rebounding (9.3) and second on the team in scoring (15.1) after a career-high 26 points against Georgia in the first round of the SEC Tournament. He earns All-SEC honors for the second time in his career. He was an All-SEC honorable mention pick by the Associated Press as a sophomore.

 

Curtis ranks fourth in the nation in both field-goal percentage and offensive rebounds per game. He tied for the SEC lead with nine double-doubles in conference play and ranks second with 15 double-doubles in all games.

 

Ole Miss hosts UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the NIT on Wednesday at Tad Smith Coliseum. Tipoff for the ESPNU televised game is 7 p.m. CT.
