3/6/2008 | Men's Basketball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Ole Miss center Dwayne Curtis has been honored for his outstanding senior campaign for the Rebels and was named All-District by the NABC this week. The Chicago native was named to the District 6 second team.

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the 150 student-athletes honored, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC All-America teams to be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.

Curtis puts up a career-high 14.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He leads the SEC in field-goal percentage (.644) and offensive rebounds (4.4), while ranking among the top five in the nation in each of those categories. He is tied for the league lead with 15 double-doubles and ranks second in rebounding. In SEC play, Curtis has a league-high 10.4 rebounds per game and nine double-doubles.

Curtis also earned NABC All-District 6 second-team honors as a sophomore. He is the 10th player in school history to earn All-District honors on multiple occasions.

Ole Miss closes the regular season with a road game at Georgia on Saturday, tipoff at 4 p.m. ET. Pending the outcome of that contest, the Rebels will earn the SEC West’s No. 3 or 4 seed for next week’s league tournament and will face either Georgia or South Carolina out of the SEC East in the first round.
