Lady Rebel Netters To Begin New Year This Weekend

The round-robin event begins Friday and concludes Sunday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. On Friday and Saturday, play will begin with doubles at 10 a.m. and then singles action is slated for 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, doubles will begin at 9 a.m. followed by singles at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Leading the Lady Rebels this year will be All-SEC sophomore Karen Nijssen, who is ranked No. 73 in the preseason rankings. Junior Soledad Podlipnik and sophomore Laura van de Stroet return, as well as senior Mimi Renaudin, who received a sixth year of eligibility.

The fall collegiate tennis season consists of round robin team action and individual tournament play. Team dual matches begin in January. The Lady Rebels will compete in the ITA All-American before hosting the Ole Miss Fall Classic (Oct. 12-14).
