Rebel Netters Go Undefeated On Day One Of USTA Invite

FLUSHING, N.Y. The Ole Miss men’s tennis team went undefeated on day one at the USTA National Tennis Center Men’s Tennis Invitational Friday, posting a win in doubles and six singles victories. In doubles, the No. 9 ranked duo of Bram ten Berge and Jonas Berg downed Alex Svetlakov and Martin Kosut of In singles, ten Berge, ranked No. 58 in the nation, cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jonathan Pearlman of Brown in the first round. In his second round match, ten Berge defeated Berg, ranked No. 98 in singles, dominated Cornell’s Kyle Doppelt 6-1, 6-3 in his first-round match, and then advanced to the third round, when his next opponent, Brown’s Chris Lee retired down 3-0 in the first set. Junior Kalle Norberg won both his matches in three sets. In the first round, he took out Alex Krueger-Wyman of “It was a good first day for us winning all of our matches,” head coach Billy Chadwick said. “Everybody played well for our first competition since returning to school." The USTA National Tennis Center Invitational includes more than 100 players from 18 different schools.
