Curran Receives National Honor From College Soccer 360

10/6/2009 | Soccer

OXFORD, Miss. - Sophomore forward Abbie Curran, who scored the game-winning goal in Ole Miss' 3-2 double-overtime win over No. 7 Florida on Sunday, was named one of College Soccer 360's Primetime Performers of the Week on Tuesday.

Despite standing as the shortest Rebel on the field at 5-foot-1, Curran came up with a big header on Danielle Johnson's free kick to finish the upset over the highly ranked Gators. It was the second collegiate goal for the Eagle, Idaho native, whose game-winning play helped net the Rebels a No. 24 national ranking from Soccer America this week.

Curran is the second Rebel to receive a national weekly honor this season. Taylor Cunningham was a member of Soccer America's Team of the Week on Sept. 1.

Ole Miss begins a five-match road trip this weekend at No. 16 Georgia on Friday (televised by Fox Sports South) and traditional SEC East power Tennessee on Sunday (ESPNU).
