11/2/2009 | Soccer

OXFORD, Miss. - After scoring goals in both Rebel shutout victories over Mississippi State and Alabama over the weekend, Ole Miss sophomore Dylan Jordan was named to Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week on Monday.

Jordan scored the only goal, a near post shot in the 84th minute, in Ole Miss' 1-0 win over the Crimson Tide and netted a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The Palmyra, Tenn., native has four goals in the Rebels' last four matches to give her five total goals in her inaugural season with the team after transferring from SMU.

She is the fifth Ole Miss player to be named to a national team of the week this season, joining Taylor Cunningham, Abbie Curran, Danielle Johnson and Alley Ronaldi. It's the first time in Jordan's career to earn a weekly honor.

After the two shutout wins, Ole Miss also moved up to No. 21 in the Soccer America national rankings as the team prepares for its SEC Tournament opener against Auburn on Wednesday (2:30 p.m. CT) in Orange Beach, Ala. Ole Miss earned the tournament's No. 3 seed by virtue of its 7-2-2 conference record, the second-best league mark in school history.
