Andy Kennedy Postgame Quotes

2/21/2009 | Men's Basketball

On the play of Malcolm White...

"I thought he was very, very active. I don't think he's ever had a double-double. Tonight, he was one rebound short of a double-double. His effort was outstanding on both ends of the floor. Our expectation level has been raised. We still have some room for growth. This team can still get better."

On the start to the second half...

"We had some decent looks at the basket. I'm still not real happy with our sharing the basketball. A lot of it is by design, because we keep the floor spread. Terrico (White) is so difficult to guard when he keeps the floor spread. However, eight assists on 28 field goals will end up costing you down the road. We've got to share the ball a little better."

On what was said at halftime...

"I just wanted us to play with a little more energy. I thought we were playing at their pace, although we were ahead in the game. I didn't like the way our energy was at the time."

On the Ole Miss defense...

"I thought we really guarded. I didn't think they had many clean looks. (Terrance) Woodbury got some looks at the end when the game was in the books. We blocked some shots, and when you do that, obviously the ball is not going in the basket. We were very active with seven blocks. Zach Graham should get some consideration for all-defense in our league. Again, Woodbury got some looks at the end, but Zach did a good job pressuring him."
