Philip Pearson Postgame Quotes

On the win overall

"Well, obviously it was a great team win for us today. I felt like all our guys were focused. We played really well throughout the game. I felt our defense was good all around. I felt the key to the game was the spurt we went on before halftime. We made a few shots. We talked a bunch about our rebounding. Looking at the statistics Ole Miss is at or near the top (of the SEC) in rebounding. We talked a bunch about our rebounding. We gave up three or four put backs but I felt we did a good job for the most part, which I thought was going to be a big part of the game. We had a lot of guys contribute. I was very concerned with Alonzo (Gee) He got two fouls early in the first half and Andrew (Steele) came in and did a good job. Anthony (Brock) did a good job of shooting for us."

On early foul trouble

"I thought Andrew was our key during that stretch. He did a good job defensively. A couple of Brock's shots were from Andrew penetrating. That was the same group of guys when we made a run at Mississippi State couple of weeks ago. Mikhail Torrance, Andrew Steele, Anthony Brock. I told Alonzo (Gee) and Senario (Hillman) with two fouls if we could keep the game where it was, we could try to hold them out. Obviously after we made a couple of shots we elected to hold them out. Good job off the bench for these guys."
