Terrico White Nabs Another National Freshman Honor

4/10/2009 | Men's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss point guard Terrico White added another national postseason honor on Friday, as the Memphis native was named to the CollegeHoops.net All-Freshman third team.

It is the fourth national freshman honor for White, who averaged 18.4 points in league play on his way to SEC Freshman of the Year accolades. He has also been tabbed a Freshman All-America selection by CollegeInsider.com and a second-team pick by CBSSports.com and NaismithLives.com.

Last season, Chris Warren was named national All-Freshman honorable mention by CollegeHoops.net.

Other Rebels who have earned Freshman All-America status in school history include Joe Harvell (1990) and Justin Reed (2001).

White is expected to be one of a host of returnees for Ole Miss in 2009-10, including starting guards David Huertas and Zach Graham and starting forward Murphy Holloway from last year’s team, to go along with returning injured players Warren, Eniel Polynice and Trevor Gaskins, who were all expected to play major roles prior to their injuries.
