Britton Closing In On Two Titles In London

LONDON Ole Miss rising sophomore Devin Britton is closing in on two titles at the AEGON International Junior Tennis Championships Roehampton, advancing to the semifinals Wednesday in singles and doubles.

 

He has yet to drop a set in singles or doubles, defeating Italy’s Alessandro Bega 6-2, 6-3 in the singles quarterfinals.    Britton will face a fellow American, Alexander Domijan, in the semifinals Thursday.

 

In doubles quarterfinals, Britton and his partner, Jordan Cox, defeated Andrei Vasilevski 6-3, 7-6(4) to advance to the semifinals where they will face the New Zealand team of Ben McLachlan and Riki McLachlan.

 

Britton, who became the youngest player to win the NCAA Singles Championship back in May, is gearing up for the Wimbledon Junior Championships which begin this weekend.
