9/25/2009 | Soccer

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team's Southeastern Conference home opener against Alabama, originally scheduled for tonight at 7, has been postponed due to inclement weather and rain-soaked field conditions caused by the past two weeks of heavy precipitation. Ole Miss will host a big matchup with Auburn on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Check back on OleMissSports.com for an announcement of the makeup date for the match when it has been determined by the schools and the league office.

The Rebels' SEC opener will now be Sunday's home match against Auburn, slated for a 2 p.m. start. The game will be televised by ESPNU. All fans are encouraged to wear their Rebel red to the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium and take part in all the fun festivities. The first 100 in attendance will receive free red T-shirts, while all fans will be treated to complimentary Bofields chicken. One lucky fan will be chosen at halftime to receive an extreme makeover courtesy of Rebel Rags.
