Rebels Conclude Day Two At Gator Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. The Ole Miss women's tennis team concluded day two of the Gator Classic with a 6-4 record in singles and doubles at the Scott Linder Tennis Stadium. The Rebels will finish up play Sunday.
On Saturday, the Rebels played Central Florida in singles, with the exception of senior Soledad Podlipnik, who defeated Florida's Brittany Borsanyi 6-4, 7-6(4). Junior Karen Nijssen shut out UCFs Alexis Rodriguez 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore Abigail Guthrie dominated Allison Hodges 6-1, 6-1 to remain undefeated on the season. On Friday, Guthrie defeated South Florida's Melissa Koning 6-4, 6-4.
Connor Vogel cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jenna Doerfler for her fifth consecutive win, and Laura van de Stroet handed Taylor Dubins a 6-2, 6-1 loss.
In doubles, Ole Miss faced South Florida, with the exception of Podlipnik and van de Stroet, who played a team from Florida. Guthrie teamed with Pippa Reakes to defeat South Florida's Lauren Shumate and Jessica Zok 8-4.
