Ole Miss Rifle Falls At Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Despite a season-high 590 mark in the air rifle from junior Colleen Tillson, the Ole Miss Rebel rifle team dropped a close match at GARC foe Kentucky 4663-4581 on Saturday.
Tillson's season-best mark of 590 paced the Rebels and nearly matched her career best of 591 set last season. Keely Stankey finished close behind Tillson with a mark of 583, while junior Meredith Holman fired a total of 582. Kim Coffey closed out the Rebel line with a mark of 569 to bring the Rebel air score to 2324. Kentucky, led by Katie Fretts' mark of 589, finished with an air total of 2349.
Stankey paced the Rebels' efforts in the smallbore with a mark of 574, while Tillson fired a 570. Holman turned in a score of 560 and Coffey finished the Ole Miss scoring with a total of 551 to give the Rebels a team score of 2257. Ashley Jackson led the Wildcats with a mark of 584 and Kentucky posted a smallbore team score of 2314.
The Rebels will travel to Tennessee Tech next weekend to face off against the home-standing Golden Eagles and West Virginia in a pair of matches.
