SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Ole Miss junior Chris Warren has been selected as one of 20 finalists for the 2010 Bob Cousy Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

The annual award, named for Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic Bob Cousy, recognizes college basketball's top point guard and is presented by The Hartford Financial Services.

Warren was chosen as one of 20 finalists from the previous list of 73 candidates announced in December. The Rebels' 5-foot-10, 168-pound floor general currently ranks fifth among Southeastern Conference players with 17.1 points per game and third with 2.9 three-pointers per contest. He enters the UCF game eight points shy of 1,000 for his career.

Warren is joined by two other SEC point guards on the list of finalists - South Carolina's Devan Downey and Kentucky's John Wall.

The current listing of 20 finalists for the Cousy Award will be narrowed down to 10 players by Feb. 1 and then further to five players by March 1. The final five players in contention for the award will be presented to Mr. Cousy and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. These Hall of Fame committees are made up of top college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, Sports Information Directors and Hall of Famers. The winner of the 2010 Bob Cousy Award will be awarded at the Hall of Fame's Class Announcement on Monday, April 5 in Indianapolis as part of NCAA Final Four weekend.
