Ole Miss Records Tie With LSU

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team recorded a 0-0 double overtime tie with LSU Friday night - the team's second double overtime game in its last three matches.
With the tie, Ole Miss is now 5-8-3 this season (1-4-2 SEC) while LSU is 5-6-4 (2-2-3 SEC).
In the 11th minute Sarah Story made a save on Carlie Bank's shot inside the box to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard.
Dylan Jordan had Ole Miss' best chance of the first half when she took on two defenders in the box and hit a shot to the far post in the 36th minute.
In the 82nd minute Mandy McCalla played a ball into Jordan who faced up and her shot forced the keeper to punch the ball out of bounds for a Rebel corner kick.
In the 103rd minute McCalla had a one-touch shot off a corner kick but her attempt was saved at the back post.
"This was a good match against a good opponent," head coach Matt Mott said. "We struggled with our final pass and getting quality looks."
The Rebels finished the game with 12 shots while the Tigers recorded 18. Jordan and McCalla each recorded three shots for Ole Miss. Story made 14 saves in goal for the Rebels.
Ole Miss will host Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be televised by SportsSouth.
