Holman, Quartarone Lead Ole Miss Against Jacksonville State, Nevada

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel rifle team competed in a dual-match versus Jacksonville State and Nevada-Reno on Saturday at Jacksonville State.The Rebels posted a team aggregate of 4605.
Senior Meredith Holman led the Rebels in air rifle with a score of 585, while Keely Stankey finished with a mark of 581. Freshman Abbey Stanec posted a total of 580, Kim Coffey fired a 577 and Alivia Yeager scored a 575 to round out the Rebel line. Ole Miss turned in a team air rifle aggregate of 2323.
In smallbore, freshman Melissa Quartarone paced the team with a mark of 573 and both Holman and Stanec finished with a score of 570. Stankey and Coffey rounded out the Ole Miss smallbore line with scores of 569 and 566, respectively. Ole Miss posted a team smallbore score of 2282.
"I think we may have tired so hard that it began to work against us," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "Every shot seemed to be a struggle instead of being fun. We will continue to train so that match days can just be relaxed."
Next up, Ole Miss will host UTEP on Nov. 6 at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.
