OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel softball team recently took part in a pair of community service projects during the month of October designed to give back to the Oxford community.

The Rebels held a scrimmage with patients from the North Mississippi Regional Health Center at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The Ole Miss players demonstrated hitting, pitching and throwing drills for the patients and helped them prepare for an upcoming game in the Special Olympics.

The Ole Miss players also participated in a service day at the Oxford Humane Society where they helped feed the animals and clean cages. In addition, the Rebels exercised and helped socialize the animals to prepare them for adoption.
