Rebel Netters Advance In Qualifying At All-American

TULSA, Okla. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team went 2-1 on day one of qualifying at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships here at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Senior Tucker Vorster pulled out a three-set win over Clay Thompson of UCLA. After dropping the first set in a tiebreaker, Vorster won the second set 7-5 and then gained an early break in the third to go on and win it 6-2 to advance.
Sophomore Jonas Lutjen took out Georgia senior Drake Bernstein 6-3, 6-4 in the first round, but senior Kalle Norberg lost in three sets to Tulsa's Grant Ive.
The second round takes place Tuesday, while qualifying doubles gets underway, with sophomore Adrian Forberg Skogeng and senior Kalle Norberg teaming up against Will Beck and Patrick Daciek of Virginia Tech.
The main draw for this year's first major championship begins Thursday. Junior Marcel Thiemann is already in the main draw singles, and the Rebels have two teams in main draw doubles.
