TULSA, Okla. - Marcel Thiemann of the Ole Miss men's tennis team advanced to the third round of singles at the D'Novo ITA All-American Championships Thursday here at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
In the first round, Thiemann, ranked No. 15 in the nation, downed 43rd-ranked Clint Bowles of Florida State 6-3, 6-4. The Rebel All-American followed that up with an impressive win over Kentucky's Alex Musialek, ranked No. 32. After winning the first set 6-3, Thiemann dominated the second 6-0 to set up a third-round meeting against the defending NCAA Champion, Bradley Klahn (Stanford).

Ole Miss went 1-1 in doubles, with senior Tucker Vorster and sophomore Jonas Lutjen, ranked No. 22, downing Chris Konigsfeldt and Pedro Zerbini of California 8-3. The 10th-ranked duo of Marcel and his brother Chris, dropped a 9-7 decision to Florida's Alexandre Lacroix and Nassim Slilam, ranked No. 20.
Vorster and Lutjen will face the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, Reid Carleton and Henrique Cunha of Duke, in the second round Friday.
