Ole Miss Rifle Adds Holman Sisters

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss rifle head coach Valerie Boothe announced the signing of Evalyn and Virginia Holman of Annandale, Va., to national letters of intent on Thursday. Both players will join the Rebels for the 2011-12 academic year.
The identical twin sisters of current rifle team members Emma and Meredith Holma, Evalyn and Virginia are four-year letterwinners and co-captains of the W.T. Woodson High School varsity rifle team and competed with their sister, Emma, who captained the team, during their sophomore year.
The sisters have been members of the Arlington Optimist Acorns Junior Rifle Club - one of the most well-respected junior rifle clubs in the country - since 2002. They have also competed in the NOVA Sharpshooter Rifle Club since 2002, where they were coached by their father, Chris Holman.
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with rest of the Holman family," said Boothe. "I'm looking forward to the energy and contributions they will bring."
Members of the 2010 CMP National 3P Championship team, Evalyn and Virginia have also have both competed in the Junior Olympics several times and were members of the 2010 Scholastic NRA 3P championship team.
An Honor Roll student, Evalyn is a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society and Science Honor Society, as well as, an academic letterwinner and AP scholar. She is an active member of DECA and the French Club and also competes on the math team. In addition to lettering in rifle, she is also involved in cheerleading and is a competitive swimmer.
A member of the National Honor Society and an Honor Roll student, Virginia is an officer in DECA and serves as a member of the Woodson Mentors. She also serves as a French Club officer and is involved in the Key Club and Young Republicans. Virginia has danced for over ten years at Buffa's Dance Studio and has had starring roles in the annual Nutcracker performance.
