OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss junior point guard Chris Warren was named to the 2010 All-Southeastern Conference second team by the Associated Press on Monday, adding to his growing list of postseason honors.
Warren had already been selected second-team all-league by the SEC coaches and USBWA All-District IV.
The 5-foot-10 sharpshooter by way of Orlando, Fla., ranks third among SEC players with a 17.2 scoring average and eighth with 3.4 assists per game. His 3.2 3-pointers per game is tied for second-most among SEC players and ninth-most in the nation. With 100 3s this season, he is just three short of his own school record of 103 set in 2007-08. His current streak of 41 straight games with a triple is tied with former Rebel Aaron Harper for the school record and fifth-most in SEC history.
Warren leads Ole Miss (21-10) into this week's NIT first-round contest with Sun Belt Conference regular-season champion Troy (20-12) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to face the winner of Wednesday's Memphis-St. John's matchup in the second round at a date and time to be determined later.
