White Preps For NBA Draft

Former Ole Miss star Terrico White continues to prepare for the upcoming NBA Draft, as the Memphis native has worked out with several NBA teams, with plans to visit more in the next week.
White is expected to hear his name called during the June 24 draft, which will be shown live on ESPN beginning at 6 p.m. CT. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound guard is being projected by draft analysts to go in the late first or early second round.
After a workout with the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, White told media that he had already worked out with seven or eight teams and had plans to participate in five or six more before the draft.
He also talked about his strengths, weaknesses and expectations for the draft.
"I'm versatile, so I can bring anything to the team really," said the 2009 SEC Freshman of the Year. "[I need to work on] just being more assertive and my ball-handling and shooting. [My goal is to] get drafted and come in and work hard. I'm getting eager."
In two seasons with the Rebels, White scored 955 career points and averaged 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. He earned SEC Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-America honors when he took over point guard duties for the injured Chris Warren in 2009 league play and posted 18.4 points per SEC game.
White spent the summer of 2009 with Team USA, helping the Americans to a gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Championships in New Zealand.
The last Rebel selected in the NBA Draft was Justin Reed, who went in the second round (40th overall) to the Boston Celtics in 2004.
