Rebel Golfers To Compete In Collegiate Team Event

OXFORD, Miss. -- Four members of the Ole Miss women's golf team will compete in the first annual Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship presented by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) beginning Tuesday in Dahlonega, Ga.
Fifty-five two-person teams will be competing comprised of top current women's collegiate golfers. Each team will pair players from the same university in a 54-hole stroke play event.
The Rebels will have two teams in the field, led by upcoming senior Jillian Brodd and rising junior Haley Millsap. Junior Ashley Lance and sophomore Haley Sanders make up the other team for Ole Miss.
The format of the Championship is Day 1 (Aug. 3): Alternate Shot; Day 2 (Aug. 4): Best Ball; and Day 3 (Aug. 5): Aggregate Score of the two players.
Teams are comprised of players from all levels of collegiate golf including 42 Division I, 4 Division II, 6 Division III and one NAIA program.
Achasta, by Reynolds is hosting the event in Dahlonega, Ga., one hour north of Atlanta. The par-72 Jack Nicklaus signature golf course is situated in a picturesque valley.
