Rebel Golfers Conclude Play At Carpet Capital

DALTON, Ga. - The Ole Miss men's golf team concluded play at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Sunday with a final round 300 in windy conditions at The Farm.
The Rebels were able to move up a little to 10th after struggling on the first day with a 311. They carded a 286 in the second round to finish with a total of 897.
"I was happy to move up a couple of places today. It got windy and we didn't finish well," head coach Ernest Ross said. "We have to correct some things before our next tournament."
Junior Joe David led the Rebels with a 76-69-74-219 to tie for 19th. Senior Jonathan Randolph, who shot consecutive 75s to begin the tournament, carded the low round of the day for the team with a 71.
Alabama held off Wake Forest to take the team title with an 856. Wake Forest, led by the top two individual finishers, finished with an 860. Georgia Tech and Clemson tied for third at 862. Auburn took fifth at 865.
Ole Miss will be back on the links Sept. 24-26 at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn.
