Ole Miss Rifle Drops Close Match To Murray State

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss rifle team fell to Murray State 4650-4640 on Sunday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.
"It was a tough loss, but Murray State is a quality team and it was good to see us cut it as close as we did," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "Emma Holman, even though she didn't count in the team score, had a personal best in smallbore with a 574. I'm so proud of the team .They have been working so hard in training. I'm glad that it is coming together here when we need it."
Sophomore Kim Coffey paced the Rebels in air with a personal-best mark of 593. Freshman Alivia Yeager followed Coffey with a career-high 587, while senior Meredith Holman and freshman Abbey Stanec each posted a total of 580. Keely Stankey rounded out the Ole Miss air line with a score of 579.
Stanec led Ole Miss in the smallbore firing a team-high mark of 580. Stankey finished close behind with a total of 578, while Coffey turned in a score of 573. Holman fired a 569 and freshman Melissa Quartarone finished the Ole Miss line with 563.
Next up, Ole Miss will travel to El Paso, Texas on Saturday to take on UTEP.
