Rebels Advance In Prequalifying At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. - Two members of the Ole Miss men's tennis team advanced to the third round of prequalifying at the ITA All-American here Saturday at the Case Tennis Center.
Junior Adrian Forberg Skogeng received a first round bye and then defeated Alex Chen of Tennessee Tech 6-3, 7-5 to move on to the third round, where he will face Dan Mamalat of Marquette Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Sophomore Johan Backstrom also had a first round bye and then defeated Florida sophomore Michael Alford 6-4, 6-2 to advance to a third round meeting against Texas A&M's Daniel Brown. That match will be played at 10 a.m. Sunday.

First round - Alex Durham (OM) def. Gaston Cuadranti (SMU) 6-4, 7-6(5). Second round - Daniel Sanchez (TCU) def. Durham (OM) 6-3, 6-1; Adrian Forberg Skogeng (OM) def. Alex Chen (TT) 6-3, 7-5; Johan Backstrom (OM) def. Michael Alford (UF) 6-4, 6-2.
