OXFORD, Miss. - Rafaelle Souza scored twice and Meredith Snow scored one as the Ole Miss soccer team picked up its first SEC win Sunday afternoon with a convincing 3-0 win at home over Alabama.

With the win, Ole Miss improved to 5-6-1 overall (1-3 SEC) while Alabama fell to 6-4-2 (1-2-1 SEC).

"That was a complete game for us. We defended very well, scored three really good goals and we were able to control the game," head coach Matt Mott said. "That is the kind of performance we've wanted and been looking for and I'm really happy with how we played."

Ole Miss took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute as Rafaelle Souza scored off a header on the back post off a cross from Dylan Jordan. It was Souza's team-leading eighth goal of the year.

The Rebels controlled play in the first half and found the back of the net for the second time in the 36th minute as defender Meredith Snow finished a corner kick from Alix Hildal.

Ole Miss recorded four corner kick in the first half, all which provided dangerous opportunities for the Rebels. Ole Miss recorded 10 shots in the first half while holding Alabama to just one.

Souza scored her second goal of the match in the 56th minute as she beat several Crimson Tide defenders to give Ole Miss a 3-0 lead.

For the game, Ole Miss outshot Alabama 17-3 with an 11-1 advantage in shots on goal. Rebel goalkeeper Kelly McCromick recorded her first career solo shutout and made one save in the win.

"Kelly did a really good job. She managed the game very well and I'm happy with her," Mott said. "We think she is ready and we put her in this spot and she performed very well for us."

Ole Miss hit two crossbars in the game - Emily Sinovich hit a crossbar off a corner kick in the first half while Jenna Strother hit a crossbar in the second half with a shot.

Ole Miss will play at No. 11 Tennessee on Friday at 7 p.m. and will play at Georgia Sunday at 1 p.m.
