OXFORD, Miss. - After a one month layoff since an impressive fifth place finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, the Ole Miss women's golf team will return to action Oct. 21-23 for the Mercedes-Benz SEC/PAC-12 Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn.
Among the 23-team field, consisting of every SEC and PAC-12 program, are 15 top-25 teams, including No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Auburn, No. 4 LSU, No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 8 Arizona State, No. 9 Washington, and No. 10 Southern California.
"The SEC/PAC-12 Challenge is a prestigious event," said Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard. "This is a fun event for both conferences. With more than half of the field ranked inside the top-25, this will be one of the toughest tournaments on our schedule."
The Rebels finished in a tie for 15th place in last year's event, hosted by Stanford. UCLA won the team championship.
The tournament will take place at a course that is familiar to Ole Miss-the Holston Hills Country Club.
The Rebels took part in the Mercedes-Benz Championship last year at the Knoxville course, finishing in fourth. Natalie Gleadall fired a career-best 207 on the course to end in a tie for first place before falling on the first playoff hole.
Gleadall leads the Rebels with a 73.10 stroke average per-round this season. The senior is coming off of a second place finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge-the fourth top-five placement of her career.
Junior Haley Sanders and senior Haley Millsap have each notched one top-20 finish this season.
Also competing for the Rebels will be junior Ericka Schneider and freshman Taelor Rubin.
