Members of the Ole Miss women's golf team will provide fans a look inside the team during the 2011-12 season. Junior Ericka Schneider checks in from Knoxville, Tenn., where the Rebels are competing in the SEC/PAC-12 Challenge.

It has been about three and a half weeks since our last tournament in Vail, Colorado. We have had some time to get caught up in school and prepare ourselves for the tournament this weekend here in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is my first year here at Ole Miss, so with each thing we do as a team I never know what to expect for it is always a new experience for me. For instance riding in the sprinter van; we watched movies, took cat naps and of course had a jam session with the radio. Needless to say the trip to Knoxville was more than entertaining.

We started our trip of what should have only been 6 hours on Wednesday afternoon around 12 pm and arrived around 8:30 pm that night, we made a few bathroom stops along the way. When we arrived it was a bit chilly around 50 degrees and the weather for the following day was not the ideal golfing weather. We played our practice round on Thursday in about 45 degrees, cloudy, quite a bit of wind and lots of layers of clothing not to mentions some hand warmers. Minus the weather the golf course was in great shape and we had a great time playing with lots of laughs and great shots.

Luckily the forecast for the next few days was looking a little warmer and a lot sunnier. The first day on Friday was about 55-60 degrees with lots of sun and good golf to be played; we finished the day at T13th a good start to the tournament. That night we had a dinner on the 3rd floor of Neyland Stadium, which happens to be the 4th largest non-racing stadium in the U.S. One of our guest speakers was Rosie Jones who was just recently the 2011 Solheim Cup Captain for the U.S. A great quote from Rosie was that "sometimes you learn more from losing than you do from winning" speaking of her recent experience in the Solheim cup.

The lineup for this week is Natalie Gleadall, Haley Milsap, Haley Sanders, Taelor Rubin and myself. We are currently in 7th place and you can follow us by going to www.OleMissSports.com and clicking on the live scoring link in the calendar as we climb the leaderboard in our final round tomorrow at the Mercedes-Benz SEC/PAC 12 Challenge.

Hotty Toddy!!!
