Tough Day For Rebel Netters At ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team finished play in the main draw at the ITA All-American Championships with Marcel Thiemann losing in the second round of singles and then falling in the first round of doubles with his brother, Chris Thiemann.

Marcel won his opening round of singles in the morning, defeating Ryan Thacher of Stanford 6-4, 6-4, before being eliminated by the No. 5 seed, Georgia's Wil Spencer 7-5, 6-3. Thiemann defeated Spencer in last year's regular season conference meeting in Oxford.

In doubles, the twins, seeded No. 2 and ranked No. 2 in the nation, were upset by the Texas Tech duo of Gonzalo Escobar and Vitor Manzini 8-6. The Thiemann's were among four of the eight seeds to lose in the first round.
