OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss gears up for the 2011-12 basketball season with a preseason exhibition on Thursday against Division II North Alabama.

Admission to the game is free. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.

QUICK HITS:

• Ole Miss officially opens the 2011-12 season at home on Nov. 11 against Louisiana-Monroe.
• Ole Miss returns six lettermen and three starters from last year's team that went 20-14 and played in the NIT.
• Head coach Andy Kennedy enters his sxith year at the helm and boasts a 105-64 record at Ole Miss.
• Kennedy's 105 wins are the most by an Ole Miss coach in a five-year period. He is the first Rebel coach to lead the program to four 20-win seasons and the second to guide Ole Miss to four postseason appearances.
• Senior forward Terrance Henry is the team's top returning scorer at 9.7 ppg.
• Junior forward Reginald Buckner is the top returning rebounder at 6.4 rpg. He also averaged 2.9 bpg as a sophomore and needs 22 blocks to break the Ole Miss career record.
• Ole Miss welcomes back junior forward Murphy Holloway, who can play immediately after transferring back to his original school from South Carolina, where he sat out last season. He led the Rebels in rebounding and steals each of his first two seasons.
• Ole Miss enters its first season in four years without the services of departed guards Chris Warren and Zach Graham, who finished as the third- and 18th-leading scorers in school history, respectively.
• Freshman guards Jelan Kendrick and LaDarius White will both have to sit out games during the 2011 fall semester. Kendrick is a transfer from Memphis, and White must meet academic benchmarks set by the NCAA before becoming eligible.
• Ole Miss was predicted to finish seventh in the SEC (which has eliminated divisions) in a preseason media poll.
• Ole Miss defeated UNA in a 2008 preseason exhibition game by a score of 115-81.
