OXFORD, Miss. - Fresh off a victory over Jacksonville State last weekend, the Ole Miss rifle team will conclude its fall schedule this weekend when the Rebels travel to Morgantown W. Va., for a match against Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) rival West Virginia on Saturday.
Ole Miss is currently ranked fifth in the most recent Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll, while the Mountaineers, the 2010 NCAA National Rifle Champions, are ranked third.
"We are looking forward to facing a strong West Virginia club and are hoping to close out the fall schedule on a strong note," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe.
Last weekend the Rebels traveled to Murray State, where they downed Jacksonville State in a neutral site match 4653-4634. The Rebels matched their aggregate score school record in air with a mark of 2351 and finished just one point short of the school record for total team aggregate scoring.
The Rebels will open their spring campaign Jan. 14 and 15, 2012, when they host North Carolina State and The Citadel at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.
