OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team has been selected to represent the Southeastern Conference in the 2012 Golfweek Conference Challenge in Vail, Colo., next season.

It will mark the second consecutive year that the Rebels have been invited to compete at the high-profile tournament, which will take place Sept. 23-26 at the scenic Red Sky Golf Club.

Next year's tournament will feature 18 teams from different conferences. Each of the teams is currently ranked inside the top-80, and two-No. 1 UCLA and No. 18 UC-Davis-are in the top-25. Other participants include Oklahoma, Florida State, San Diego State, Tulsa, and Pepperdine.

"We are so excited to be invited back and representing the SEC as this tournament," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "We had a great time this past fall. The course is awesome and the atmosphere and scenic views are breathtaking. We look forward to returning next year."

In this year's event, the Rebels finished in fifth place-nine strokes behind tournament winner Oklahoma. Senior Natalie Gleadall earned a second place finish. Fellow senior Haley Millsap finished in 16th place.

The Rebels, currently ranked 34th in the nation, will resume the 2011-12 campaign Feb. 26-28 with the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, La.
