NEW ORLEANS, La. - Junior Natalie Gleadall turned in a final round 74 to lead the Ole Miss women's golf team Tuesday at the English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Gleadall carded rounds of 75-73-74 for a 222 to tie for 31st in the individual standings.
As a team, the Rebels posted a final round 300 and concluded the tournament with a 908 for 15th place.
Haley Millsap and Jillian Brodd both fired a 75, Ashley Lanced recorded a 76, and Haley Sanders posted a 78 to round out the scoring for Ole Miss.
"We're doing a better job each day of managing our games in tough conditions. There is more we can do, and we are looking forward to a good week of practice, before heading off to LSU," head coach Michele Drinkard said.
The 17-team field finally caught a break Tuesday from the wind. The 32 groups were treated to sunny skies and temperatures in the high 60s. The tournament heated up in both the team and individual races as USC not only overcame Alabama's four-stroke lead heading into the final day, but won going away by four strokes with an 868. The Women of Troy completed the come-from-behind victory with a 6-under 282 to upset the nation's top-ranked Crimson Tide.
Alabama did come away with a championship, however, as freshmen sensation and 25th-ranked Stephanie Meadow took home the individual medalist title, edging LSU's top-ranked Megan McChrystal by one stroke.
The Rebels will be back in action March 11-13 at the LSU Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La.
