OXFORD, Miss. -- Senior All-American Jonathan Randolph took fifth at the John Hayt Collegiate, while teammate Joe David finished 10th Tuesday at Sawgrass Country Club to lead the Ole Miss men's golf team.

Both players came into the final round three back of the lead and in contention. Randolph shot even par to finish at 2-under 214 for the tournament. His final round included an eagle and two birdies. David, after rounds of 70, 72, carded a final round 75 to finish with a 217.

Randolph recorded his 13th career top-five and 19th career top-10 finish to move into third all-time at Ole Miss in both categories. In seven tournaments this year, he has only finished outside the top 20 once.

In strong winds the Rebels improved as a team shooting a 292 to move up to a tie for sixth in the final standings. Junior college transfer Zach Primavera carded his lowest round as a Rebel with a 2-under 70. Billy Brozovich turned in a 75, and Chad Bounds finished with an 87.

"We got a better team performance today," head coach Ernest Ross said. "Again we had strong winds at the course. Jonathan and Joe had a top five and top 10 respectively, even without their 'A' games. We are proud of Zach Primavera, who had his best round as a Rebel. I still think we can play better, but we are improving."

The SEC reigned supreme, taking the top three spots in the team standings. In the tough conditions, Arkansas fired a 5-under 283 in the final round to take the team title over Auburn by two strokes. The Razorbacks totaled a 567, while the Tiger's tallied a 569. LSU took third at 571. The top five players in the individual standings were all from the SEC as well, with Florida's Phillip Choi claiming medalist honors with a 7-under 209.

The Rebels will return to action March 18-20 at the Chris Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.
