Gleadall Leads Ole Miss At SEC Championship

AUBURN, Ala. - Junior Natalie Gleadall posted a 228 to finish tied for 29th to lead the Ole Miss women's golf team at the SEC Championship Sunday at the Auburn University Golf Club.
Gleadall finished with a 78-75-75. Junior Haley Millsap had the best round of the day for the Rebels with a 1-over par 73.
"We had a much better day overall for us," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "Great to see Haley and Jillian bounced back and play well. Natalie continued her good play along with Ashley. We will take off two days and then start preparing for the NCAA Tournament and build on today's success."
Auburn led wire-to-wire and captured the championship with an 864, 11 shots better than rival Alabama's 875. LSU carded an 887 for third, Arkansas took fourth with an 892, and South Carolina finished fifth with an 893. Tennessee's Erica Popson shot a 210, paced by an opening round 66, to take medalist honors. She edged Georgia's Marta Silva Zamora by one stroke.
The Rebels are anticipating a bid to the NCAA Regionals May 5-7 at three different sites. Regional selections will be announced Monday, April 25.
