MORE MULTIMEDIA: Evening To Remember | Red Carpet | Award Winners

A new tradition in Ole Miss Athletics began on April 11, as the red carpet was rolled out for the inaugural Rebels' Choice Awards.

The semi-formal event was held at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for Performing Arts and honored athletics achievement from the past year. With Rebel student-athletes and staff dressed to the nines, the evening began on the red carpet before the show kicked off.

The Rebels' Choice Awards included 14 categories in which the winners were selected by Ole Miss' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and three additional awards were determined by an online fan vote. Winners are listed below.

Emceed by ESPN announcer Clay Matvick, the event included video highlights of the athletics year, the music of the band Deliverance and an outrageous performance by football player Jacob Hickman. However it was the winners' acceptance speeches that generated the most excitement.

The awards show was part of Ole Miss' festivities for National Student-Athlete Day, which is celebrated during the month of April.
