OXFORD, Miss. - Second-year head coach Matt Mott has announced the addition of three transfers to his 2011 signing class at Ole Miss.
Emily Reid (So., Oklahoma), Emily Sinovich (Jr., UAB) and Rafaelle (So., Centro Federal de Educação Tecnologica da Bahia, Brazil) have signed National Letters of Intent with the Rebels. All three will be eligible to play in the fall.
"We are excited to welcome these three players to our program," Mott said. "They will add depth, experience and quality to our roster."
Reid, a native of McKinney, Texas, transferred to Ole Miss from Oklahoma where she played in 21 games as a freshman in 2010. As a midfielder, she recorded one goal and one assist for the Sooners and was tied for sixth on the team in shots with 23. Reid attended McKinney Boyd High School in McKinney, Texas where she was a four-year letterwinner. During her high school career she scored 92 goals and was a two-time First Team All-State selection. Reid was ranked as the No. 18 recruit in the 2010 TopDrawerSoccer.com Regional Top 20. She will be a sophomore and have three years of eligibility with the Rebels.
"Emily is a very creative attacking midfield player who gained valuable experience playing in the Big 12 as a freshman," Mott said. "We think she will be an integral part of our attacking unit."
Sinovich, a native of O'Fallon, Mo., played two years at UAB where she played in 37 career matches. As a defender, she recorded seven points on three goals and one assist. Sinovich attended Incarnate Word Academy where she was an NSCAA First Team-All American after her senior season. She won two state championships in high school and was the Gatorade Player of the Year runner-up. Sinovich will be a junior and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"Emily played as a defender and midfielder during her two years at UAB," Mott said. "With her size and physical attributes we think she will be competing for playing time as a center back or holding midfielder."
Rafaelle participated in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand in 2008 and the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany 2010. She also led her team to a second-place finish in the U-17 Chile South American Championship in 2008 and a first-place finish in the U-20 Colombia South American championship 2010. Rafaelle also led her team to four consecutive first place finishes in the State Championship Bahia 2007-10. She attended Centro Federal de Educação Tecnologica da Bahia and played club for São Francisco do Conde Futebol Clube. She will be a sophomore and have three years of eligibility with the Rebels.
"Rafaelle has competed at the highest level of youth soccer as a member of the U-17 and U-20 Brazilian National teams," Mott said. "She is a tremendous athlete who can operate on either flank or in a central attacking role."
Reid, Sinovich and Rafaelle will join Rebel signees Kelly McCormick (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), Kate Anderson (Dallas, Texas), Kristen McBrayer (Hiram, Ga.) and Mary Louise Clawson (Houston, Texas) who signed with Ole Miss in February. Virginia Seiler (Atlanta, Ga.) and Margaret Thomas (Benton, Ky.) will also join the team in the fall.
