OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss Athletics recorded eight single-year perfect 1000 scores and two teams had multi-year perfect 1000 scores in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) report released by the NCAA Tuesday.

All 18 sports scored above the national cutoff standard of 925 in the multi-year APR results, which cover the four-year period extending from the 2006-07 through 2009-10 school years.

Both the Ole Miss women's golf and softball teams received public recognition awards last week from the NCAA for posting multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of their particular sport.

Joining women's golf and softball with perfect scores for the 2009-10 year are: men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, women's tennis, volleyball and rifle.

Baseball (970), men's basketball (969), men's cross country (985), men's indoor (982) and outdoor track (991), women's basketball (987), women's golf (1000), softball (1000), women's indoor (983) and outdoor track (991) and volleyball (995) all posted multi-year APR scores above the national average for Division I.

Football improved its multi-year score for the second straight year and men's basketball went up 47 points from the 2008-09 report.

"Ole Miss has a great academic support staff of counselors, learning specialists and tutors," said Athletics Director Pete Boone. "Karen Schiferl, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Support, has done a remarkable job leading this team in support of our student-athletes."
