Meet The Rebels Day Coming Up August 20

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss football, soccer and volleyball teams will break from preseason practice to visit with Rebel fans as part of Meet The Rebels Day on Saturday, August 20.
The event will begin at noon at the Indoor Practice Facility on campus and features a full day of festivities for fans that will conclude with a football scrimmage at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The doors to the IPF will open at noon, and fans can purchase a boxed lunch sponsored by Chick-fil-A for $10. There will also be a raffle for prizes ranging from a pair of football tickets for a game in the Rebel Club or South Zone to gift certificates to local businesses.
Rebel and the Chick-fil-A Cow will greet children, while the Ole Miss spirit squads will also be on hand.
Head coach Houston Nutt will be among those to address the crowd beginning at 1:30 p.m. A two-hour autograph session featuring the football, soccer and volleyball teams starts at 2 p.m. in the IPF.
Fans will be able to purchase official Ole Miss football team gear, including game used jerseys for $50 and game used helmets for $200. There will be a limited number of polos, t-shirts and sweatshirts at a discounted rate. The 2011 Ole Miss football media guide will also be available for $15 (cash only).
Shortly after signing autographs, the football team will take the field in preparation for the 6 p.m. scrimmage that will end the day's activities.
The weekend begins with the Rebel soccer season opener on Friday night. Ole Miss hosts in-state rival Southern Miss at 7 p.m. at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.
Action continues Saturday morning as the volleyball squad will host an open scrimmage prior to Meet The Rebels Day festivities. The Rebels will take the court at 11 a.m. at the Gillom Center.
