Soccer Reports Today For Preseason Camp

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team reports Tuesday for preseason camp which will run from Aug. 2 until the team's first regular-season game on Aug. 19.

"We are looking forward to the girls being back on campus," head coach Matthew Mott said. "Everyone seems healthy and we are ready to get started."

The Rebels will attend meetings and complete paperwork Tuesday before taking the field on Wednesday. The team will run one of its fitness tests Wednesday morning followed by other training sessions during the day.

The team will run its second fitness test on Aug. 7. The team will also attend weights during its preseason camp.

Ole Miss returns several starters from its 2010 team including leading scorer senior Dylan Jordan, All-SEC second team selection junior Alix Hildal and SEC All-Freshman team honoree Mandy McCalla. This year's roster includes a talented and leadership-minded senior class with six seniors on the roster.

The team will welcome 11 newcomers this year including transfers Rafaelle Souza (Salvador, Brazil), Emily Reid (Oklahoma) and Emily Sinovich (UAB).

The team will play UT-Martin in an exhibition game on Friday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. on the brand new pitch at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. They will open the regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 19 hosting Southern Miss at 7 p.m. All Ole Miss soccer home games are free.

Ole Miss fans have a chance to meet the 2011 soccer players and coaches and receive autographs, posters and schedule cards at the annual "Meet the Rebels" event Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Indoor Practice Facility on campus. Check back on OleMissSports.com for times and additional information.
