"We are going to start off our road games this year with a difficult game at Texas Tech," second year head coach Matt Mott said. "They are a very difficult opponent. They play on a different type of surface, they play on Astroturf, which is different that what we are used too and they are a very well coached team. It'll be a big crowd and it will be a good environment for us to play in this early in the season. The game will have a very SEC type feel to it. They are a quality opponent and they just missed out on NCAAs last year. It'll be a really good test for us this early in the season."

"Jackson State is coming off a year where they won their conference and went to the NCAA tournament," Mott said. "They are a very athletic team. They've got a number of foreign players which is always a challenge because you don't know what to expect but typically they will have a lot of pace and quality soccer players. We are going to have to be prepared and be at our best."
