Ole Miss Closes Out Non-Conference Play Saturday at UAB

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team (4-2-1) will play at UAB Saturday at 7 p.m. for the team's final non-conference game of the season.

"UAB is traditionally a very strong non-conference opponent for us," head coach Matt Mott said. "We will head to Birmingham trying to end our non-conference season on a positive note."

OLE MISS-UAB
UAB leads the all-time series, 3-2. The Blazers posted a 3-1 win over the Rebels in Oxford last August.

UAB is 2-5 this year. The Blazers have been outscored 20-6 on the year and are 1-1 at home.

The team is led offensively by Pascale Pinard who has recorded four points (two goals) and Carolyn Polcari who has scored one goal and added an assist.

Goalkeeper Katie Getzinger and CJ Winship have split time in goal. Getzinger has played in five games, allowed 13 goals and made 32 saves. Winship has played in four games, allowed seven goals and has made 12 saves.

REBELS TIED FOR NINTH IN NSCAA SOUTH REGION POLL
In the NSCAA South Region Poll released on September 13, Ole Miss is tied for ninth in the South. Of the 10 teams ranked in the South Region, nine of the teams are from the SEC. The other team is the University of Denver. Ole Miss has been ranked in the South Poll each week this season.

OLE MISS-UAB CONNECTIONS
Rebel newcomer Emily Sinovich played two years at UAB from 2009-10. In her two seasons with the Blazers, she played in 37 career games and recorded seven points on three goals and one assist.

PROTECTING HOME FIELD
With its 6-1 win over The Citadel on September 12, the Rebels remain undefeated at home this year with a 3-0 record. During that span, the team has recorded 15 goals while allowing just one.

REID, STROTHER RECORD FIRST CAREER GOALS
Sophomore transfer Emily Reid and senior Jenna Strother each recorded their first career goal against The Citadel on September 12. Reid scored twice while Strother scored once.

SOUZA SPARKS OFFENSE
Rafaelle Souza has recorded six goals this year to lead the team in both scoring and points (15). She scored the team's first five goals of the year and added her first career assist against Jackson State. Souza has recorded at least one goal in each of her first three career games at Ole Miss and has recorded all three of Ole Miss' game-winning goals this year. She has recorded three assists this year including two against The Citadel.

RONALDI OLE MISS' CAREER LEADER IN GAA
Senior goalkeeper Alley Ronaldi is the Rebels' career leader in GAA. She has a career GAA of 0.89 in 33 games and 3,328 minutes played. Ronaldi is one of five Rebel goalkeepers all-time to have a career GAA of less than one, and is the only goalkeeper to have a career GAA of less than 0.80.

NOTES
Ole Miss has faced two top-25 teams this year (No. 6 Duke and No. 16 Memphis) ... The Rebels have recorded double-digit points in two games this year: 21 versus Jackson State and 17 versus The Citadel ... Nine Rebels have recorded at least one point for the team this year while eight have recorded multiple points ... Ole Miss has recorded multiple goals in three games ... Ole Miss' eight goals against Jackson State tied the program record for the fourth-most goals in a game ... Several newcomers saw their first career playing time for Ole Miss against Jackson State: Meghan O'Rourke, Mary Louise Clawson, Virginia Seiler, Kim Duff and Margaret Thomas.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Ole Miss will open SEC play on the road, traveling to Arkansas on Friday, September 23 at 7 p.m. followed by a game at LSU on Sunday, September 25 at 1 p.m. The Rebels will host Auburn on Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. and Alabama on Sunday, October 2 at 1 p.m.
