Ole Miss Rifle Ranked No. 8 In Preseason Poll

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel rifle team is ranked No. 8 in the nation in the 2011 Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) preseason poll, it was announced Friday.
Defending NCAA national champion and Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foe Kentucky is ranked number one in the poll, while 2010 NCAA national Champion TCU is ranked second. GARC member and 2009 NCAA national champion West Virginia is ranked third in the preseason poll, as voted on by CRCA member coaches. The University of Alaska-Fairbanks, Murray State, and Jacksonville State are ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
Ole Miss is ranked eighth just behind GARC conference member Army, while Air Force and Ohio State round out the top ten. Other GARC member schools Nebraska (12th), Memphis (15th) and N.C. State (18th) are also ranked in the poll.
The Rebels open the season Saturday with the Ole Miss Invitational at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.
