WILMINGTON, NC - After the completion of 9-11 holes at the Landfall Tradition, rain and wind from Hurricane Sandy got the best of the women's golf tournament as play was suspended for the day.

"Rounds like today in the high wind and rain from Hurricane Sandy build character," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "You have to simplify and be committed to every shot and we were today. I am proud of our team. We definitely had the best energy and attitude on the golf course. Tomorrow is a new round and we look forward to the opportunity to play in tough conditions again, it makes us better."

As a team, Ole Miss carded an 11-over today and moved up one place in the standings, as the team sits in 14th place out of the 17-team field. Lindsey Weaver of Notre Dame leads the field with a 3-under 69 while as a team, Duke leads the tournament with a 7-over.
