MEMPHIS, Tenn. -The Ole Miss Rifle team opened the 2012-13 season shooting a aggregate score of 4600 on Thursday at the Memphis Invitational. The team shot their best score ever at the Rangemaster Shooting Facility in Memphis.

The Rebels are currently second in aggregate score at the Tiger Invitational behind UT Martin (4601). They are leading in smallbore with 2277 and are second in air with 2323.

Juniors MaryAnn Banks and Melissa Quartarone lead the Rebels on smallbore each posting a 573. Junior Abbey Stanec posted a 567 , while Junior Alivia Yeager fired a 564. Senior Kim Coffey finished the scoring line with a mark of 560.

The Rebels also had a strong showing in air rifle. Ole Miss was lead by Quartarone's 586, followed by Yeager's 583, Stanec's 580, Goodwin's 574 and Coffey, who fired a 569.

"It's a good start. That's a tough range to shoot and we went into it with a great attitude," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "We know where our weaknesses are and we will continue working on that. We are glad to get a couple of home matches in to boost us up."

Competition in the Tiger Invitational concludes this weekend. The Rebels kicked off their home schedule Friday with the Ole Miss Invitational.
