Sanders, Millsap Lead Rebels In Second Round

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Haley Sanders carded a 71 and Haley Millsap followed with a 72, as the Ole Miss women's golf team shot a 293 in the second round of the Suntrust Gator Women's Invitational on Saturday.
The Rebels trimmed 12 strokes off of the 308 score that they turned in on Friday. The 293 was the second-best team score of the second round.
No. 23 Florida fired a 283 on their home course to tie No. 7 Alabama for the lead in the team standings. No. 10 Georgia and Florida State currently sit five and six strokes behind, respectively.
Sanders followed Friday's 4-over with a 1-over to move into 11th place in the individual standings. The junior rolled in three birdies on the afternoon, including two in her final nine holes. The second round performance vaulted Sanders into the top 20 and just one stroke outside of the top 10.
Millsap also improved on her Friday score by three strokes, finishing at 2-over. The Pace, Fla., senior started the round strong, birdying her first two holes. Millsap was at 1-under before running into trouble on her final three holes to finish with a 72 and in a tie for 20th place.
Senior Ashley Lance posted her best round of the season with a 4-over 74, while Natalie Gleadall and Ericka Schneider each shot a 76.
