Ole Miss Posts Strong APR Results

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Athletics recorded 10 single-year perfect 1000 scores and two teams had multi-year perfect 1000 scores in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) report released by the NCAA Wednesday.

All 18 sports scored above the national cutoff standard of 925 in the multi-year APR results, which cover the four-year period extending from the 2007-08 through 2010-11 school years.

Both the Ole Miss men's and women's basketball teams as well as women's golf and softball teams received public recognition awards last week from the NCAA for posting multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of their particular sport. Women's golf received the award for the fourth year in a row.

Joining women's golf and softball with perfect scores for the 2010-11 year are: men's basketball, men's cross country, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's tennis, volleyball and rifle.

Baseball (976), men's basketball (990), men's cross country (975), men's tennis (984), men's indoor (974) and outdoor track (977), women's basketball (995), women's cross country (988), women's golf (1000), softball (1000), women's indoor (987) and outdoor track (989), volleyball (995) and rifle (982) all posted multi-year APR scores above the national average for Division I.

Ole Miss owns the highest APR score (990) among men's basketball in the SEC, while the Rebel women (995) rank second among league schools.
